Puerto Vallarta Golf Options
Puerto Vallarta or "PV" as savvy travelers have started calling it,
now has seven golf courses. Jack Nicklaus and other of the greatest Golf Course
designers have created courses in this tropical destination in Mexico, among
them Tom Weiskopf and Robert von Hagge. With the advent of a larger assortment
of world class courses and resorts, some in Puerto Vallarta, some in Nuevo Vallarta
and further north, Vallarta can now claim to be a true worldclass golf destination.
Puerto Vallarta might soon take the place of Los
Cabos - Cabo San Lucas as the leading golf destination in Mexico.
El Tigre Golf Course, Paradise Village
Von Hagge's El Tigre at Paradise Village is the newest offering here in Puerto Vallarta. Surrounded by the Sierra Madre Mountains, El Tigre golf course is 7,239 yards, par 72. Built on a flat piece of land which
was strongly remodelled including nine separate water bodies, a stone throw from the Pacific Ocean and the Paradise Village Beach Resort and Spa.
Puerto Vallarta is quickly becoming synonymous with world-class golf, and Paradise Village’s EL TIGRE golf course has just raised the standard with its new upscale golf facilities and exclusive country club.
"Create the most exciting championship golf course in Mexico”, was the challenge given to the team of Von Hagge, Smelek and Baril, designers of over 200 of the world’s finest golf courses. The result … a 7,239 yard masterpiece.
The memorable experience begins upon arrival at the Club, as golfers pass through an
impressive stone archway resembling a Mayan temple, beside which a real Bengal tiger lives securely in his habitat. Further in, the 45,000 sq. ft. clubhouse sits perched in the heart of EL TIGRE offering spectacular views in all directions.

Vista Vallarta, Nicklaus & Weiskopf Golf Courses
On the foothills of the lush Vallartan rainforests lay Vista Vallarta's two championship courses, just 10 minutes away from Puerto Vallarta's Marina. Both courses (Nicklaus and Weiskopf) opened in 2001
and have been universally acclaimed.

Since this course is located on the properties highest elevation, golfers are treated not only to world class golf but will enjoy breathtaking views of Puerto Vallarta, the Marina and Banderas Bay as well. Grassy hillsides, dense forest of Palm and giant Ficas trees, natural creeks and arroyos provide the perfect setting for this world class course by the world's greatest player.
Opened in November 1st, 2001. This signature Designed by Tom Weiskopf provides Vista
Vallarta with a dramatic contrast from its first course. Built on the properties lower west end, golfers won't believe they have simply taken a different turn the club house. Here the terrain is extreme with dense jungles, deep ravines and swift creeks. Mr. Weiskopf has done a masterful job of blending the elevations and natural features into an incredibly playable experience... from the first tee to the green of the "driveable" 18th.
